If you at the moment are a PhD-student, you should apply for a professional membership, and state the ongoing studies under PhD or licentiate degree.
We retrieve your address from the Swedish population register to our registers, so that you can become a member immediately.

The income insurance is included in the membership and in order for it to be applicable, you need to be a member of the Akademikernas a-kassa. You apply for the unemployment insurance fund separately. You will receive a link in the next step.
Direct debit/autogiro means that the membership fee is deducted monthly from the specified account.
Invoice means that the membership fee is invoiced quarterly.
E-invoice means that the membership fee is invoiced quarterly.

As a new member of the union you’ll get a basic package with four important kinds of insurance completely free of charge for three months.
These insurance policies are accident insurance, life insurance, disability insurance and incapacity compensation insurance. After that, you can choose whether you want to continue with the insurance policies.
