The Mavuno Modal Girls’ Secondary School in northwestern Tanzania has gone from modest beginnings to becoming one of the top-performing schools in the country — currently ranked 53rd out of over 5,000 schools in national exams.

This success is the result of a powerful partnership between the local community, the NGO Mavuno, Engineers Without Borders Sweden (EWB-SWE), and Engineers Without Borders Germany. With a strong focus on sustainability, the new three-storey school building enables hundreds of vulnerable girls to access safe, high-quality secondary education.

Moderator – Torsten Kjellgren, Project Manager and Opinion Leader, Sveriges Ingenjörer
