The Swedish gaming company King has today signed a collective bargaining agreement with Engineers of Sweden and Unionen. The negotiations have been ongoing since May 2025 and have now resulted in an agreement. Engineers of Sweden is thereby withdrawing the previously issued notice of strike.
– This is an important step for King, the gaming industry and for the Swedish model. We look forward to good cooperation with the company going forward and to the employees receiving the basic job security that almost nine out of ten employees in Sweden have through collective bargaining agreements, says Camilla Frankelius, head of negotiations at Engineers of Sweden.
The new collective bargaining agreement means, among other things, that the employees at King will have better opportunities to influence their work situation. They also gain the right to organise and to receive information in good time when changes affecting the work are made, for example in the event of reorganisations or changed conditions.
– This shows the power that comes from employees joining forces in their dedication for change and improvement. Without the fantastic engagement of our members at King, it would have been much more difficult to reach this agreement,” says Camilla Frankelius.
King will be covered by the TechSverige IT agreement from 1 April 2027.
It was on 15 September that Engineers of Sweden together with Unionen issued a notice of strike against the company. Now that the collective bargaining agreement is in place, the notice has been withdrawn.
